Hello! I’m Daniella and I’m a second-year English and Drama student at Queen Mary, University of London.
I began this blog in the summer of 2016, when I’d gone back home after first year of living in London and was quite bored. So I started to write about what I loved and knew best – theatre. This blog contains reviews, interviews, tips, and general thoughts on theatre and sometimes occasionally other aspects of pop culture/the entertainment world.
I began dance lessons at the age of three, and haven’t really stopped being involved in theatre since. I’ve taken part in musicals, outdoor Shakespeare, new writing, festivals, and been an actor in a scare maze. Recently, though, I’ve been moving towards the non-performative careers on offer. I am currently producing a show (‘Richard III’) as well as hoping to direct at some point in the next year.
Alongside my studies and my blog, I’m a part-time barista (yes, I am Mia from ‘La La Land’), a soon-to-be steward at Shakespeare’s Globe, and the secretary for my university’s theatre company, QMTC.
I’m a big fan of Shakespeare and musical theatre (maybe both at the same time…?), and am usually found wearing dungarees and/or glitter, tweeting a relatable GIF from an iconic teen film. I’m super interested in pursuing arts journalism or theatre/entertainment PR and marketing in the future.
For 2016-17 I was the editor of the ‘London’ section of my university’s award-winning magazine, CUB. You can find all my articles here. In addition, I was also one of the Barbican Centre’s ‘Young Reviewers’, creating three video reviews for their YouTube channel.
